Home Ownership Responsibilities

With the ownership of lakeshore property comes not only rights and privileges, but also the responsibility to protect, preserve and enhance the quality of our lake and its environs for present and future generations to enjoy.

A Few Guidelines for Lake Hubert Residents...

Be a Good Neighbor.

  • Enjoy the lake but be sensitive to the needs of others.

  • Keep your dogs and cats off of your neighbor's property.

  • Party in moderation; keep the noise level down.

  • Respect fishing boats and give them adequate distance.

Be courteous with Personal Watercraft (jet skis)

  • Talk to your neighbors

  • Don’t operate in the same area for a long period of time.

  • Operate far from shore and other boaters.

Be a safe neighbor on the water.

  • Be reasonable and safe with use of boats & personal watercraft.

  • Use personal flotation devices.

  • Watch for swimmers.

Maintain the water quality of our lake.

  • Limit the use of fertilizers and the runoff into the lake.

  • If you feel you MUST use lawn fertilizer, always use a zero phosphorus fertilizer.

  • Maintain an adequate septic system.

Promote Good fish and wildlife habitat.

  • Be sensitive to shoreline modifications.

Help Prevent and Eliminate Exotics.

  • Curlyleaf Pondweed, Eurasian Water Milfoil, Purple Loosestrife, Zebra Mussels, Rough fish, Eurasian Ruffe.

Support our local business community.

  • Support this community by buying locally whenever possible.

Protect and Respect Wildlife.

  • The loons, ducks, eagles, birds and deer are neighbors also.

Be a good citizen.

  • Keep informed of the governmental legislation, regulations and ordinances that impact all of us.


Don't pollute your land or our lake.

  • Dispose of household and yard waste responsibly.
